Traditional brazing material are normally alloy with 2 or more elements, to get low melting point and increase the molten metal fluxility, B, P, Si elements are added intentionally, to achieve eutectic or hypoeutectic multiple phase structure, the micro distribution of elements are very uneven.

Whereas the amorphous brazing foil is unique, there is no crystal microstructure at all, so the distribution is very uniform, also the homogenous of elements is very good, so the amorphous foil shows unique feature such as: good fluxility, high bonding strength, thin thickness etc.

The manufacture method of amorphous foil is normal by super fast cooling technique. For the hard and brittle alloy which could not apply deformation process, the melt is heated up to molten, then pour onto surface of a water-cooling high speed rotating copper roller, which quench the melt in very short time and a amorphous foil is gathered.

Features of amorphous foil:

1.       Chemical composition uniform, very low level of impurity, gas;

2.       Glue free, so no special request on the heat up speed, and no left over in the braze seam;

3.       Could achieve any shape by punching shears, easy to control the brazing amount and suppresses the diffuse flow of the brazing material;

4.       Pre-place into the gap of components, could achieve big area brazing;

5.       Compare with other brazing material, there is very little requirements on storage.

Cu-base amorphous brazing foil: melt temperature 560°C-640°C, brazing temperature 700°C-750°C. Could replace Ag brazing plate, apply to brazing of precision instrumentation circuits and components, contacts, heat exchanger, also the brazing of Cu and Cu-alloys, the joint strength could achieve 98-137MPa.

Ni-base amorphous brazing foil: melt temperature 960°C-990°C, brazing temperature 1040°C-1100°C. Mainly apply to brazing of heat resistant steel, high temperature superalloys and stainless steel components. The joint strength and wettability are extremely good. The brazing seam could service under 500°C for long time, the application including the brazing of fuel heading, conduits, nozzles, rectifiers, diffusers etc. The joint strength could achieve 137-156MPa.
