Features of typical grades:
Ni2
Very widely used Ni-base brazing alloy, the flowability and wettability of melts is very good, low melting temperature, high joint strength, combine with good oxidation and corrosion resistance, used for stainless steel and diamond tools braze welding.
Ni5
Ni5 grade shows very limit erosion to the substrate material during brazing, plus the good high temperature strength and oxidation resistance, mainly used for high temperature super alloys brazing.
Ni6
The flowability of Ni6 melt is excellent, which allows tolerance to the protection atmosphere. Also limited erosion to most type of Ni-base and Fe-base substrate. Suitable for stainless steel, copper brazing. Drawback is lack of toughness, so more use for static loads.
Ni7
Ni7 shows good high temperature strength and oxidation resistance, mainly used for thin component brazing, copper and stainless steel welding, and could applied by both vacuum or belt furnace.
